Swamp Holes

storytelling is a power, a tool, a practice.

it can be liberating, healing, moving, regenerative, and connective.

Our group and individual offerings, include movement practices, writing practices, advocacy support, and connection making as mediums for storytelling.

while embracing the mess that comes along with world building.

this is a 'gator hole' - a third space to practice storytelling, world building, being messy, and being in community.

Messy Movement Class

sometimes your body knows before you do.
sometimes it's been holding things you don't have words for.

this is a space to move that stuff around.
to shake, stretch, pause, breathe, flail a little—whatever's real.

come engage in a space where you can explore how you need to move. how your body needs to tell a story that needs to be told. or how to shed a story that no longer wants to be told. how to world build a new story through movement. experiment with being witnessed and witnessing others telling our stories through movement.

various movement practices are offered which foster "in our bodies" story telling.

this space is adapted to various levels of abilities and comfort levels with being seen (you can choose how you show up, how you engage, and how you show your story)

Creative Writing Group

a place to get messy with writing stories, characters, fragments, strange little truths or untruths.

you don't have to be a "writer."
you just have to be willing to play and be a little honest. be a little weird. be a little funky.

Come with your own writing activity in mind or engage in the planned practices.

planned creative writing practices are designed to help us explore our selves, fears, grief, rage, joy, pleasure, uncertainty, and hidden realms beyond through activities that engage our muscles of creativity - the superpower capitalism can never truly steel if we exercise it!

Explore sharing your stories and witnessing others' stories at your own comfort level.

Peer Advocacy

some places are just... a lot.

doctor's offices. hospitals. stores. spaces and systems that weren't built with you in mind.

you don't have to do those alone.

as a cancer survivor myself, I know what it's like to feel alone navigating spaces that feel overwhelming at best and dangerous at worst.

this is a service for when you need support while navigating these spaces.

we figure it out together, from advocacy to peer support. we will make a plan together about what your support needs are and what will be most helpful.

business/org community relations support

for coordination and connection support

caring about things can feel overwhelming when you're by yourself, burnout, or unsure where your place is in the movement for change and liberation from the oppressive systems of capitalism, colonialism, patriarchy, and imperialism.

this support is about finding your people, building skills, and learning how to actually be in community which is messy, imperfect and uncertain.

we practice communication, accountability, solidarity and collaboration.
because community doesn't just happen. we make it through practice. and that is an ongoing task that requires learned and implemented sustainability into daily roles and routines.

If you want to learn how to utilize your skills, talents, and passions for building the new systems you want to see in the world - this service is for you!

If you want support in moving through the messiness of movement building (deconstructing white supremacy, demanding an end to imperialism, breaking out of the hetero-normative patriarchal binary, divesting from capitalism, making space for neurodiversity - this is for you!

there is no one-size-fits-all or direct solution. the end goal is to establish a practice of your own, in connection with the wider movement for collective care and wellbeing.

we work together to move from "I care" to "I am practicing collective care".

If you’re a small business, organization, collective, or just a group of friends wanting to collaborate with others -

  • a hair salon dreaming of working with a tattoo artist,

  • a mutual aid org wanting to partner with artists,

  • a queer dance group imagining classes in a late-night coffee shop

  • a herbalist or plant medicine practitioner wanting to collaborate with a somatic therapist or movement facilitator

  • a DIY art collective or zine group wanting to host pop-ups or workshops inside a community garden or food justice space

  • a bodyworkers collective wanting to co-create sliding-scale clinics with mutual aid orgs

  • a thrift/vintage shop wanting to partner with a stylist, photographer, or body liberation group

  • a harm reduction org wanting to partner with street medics or outreach artists

  • a community garden or urban farm wanting to partner with a cooking collective or food justice group

  • a queer/trans support group wanting to host events in a bookstore, café, or art space

  • OR if you are unsure of what collaborations to go for, we can create a vision together

If you want support reaching out, making connections, and moving through the vulnerability and intricacies of building relationships across spaces, this is for you.

If you want support in turning ideas into actual, lived collaborations that feel aligned, sustainable, and grounded in shared values, this is for you.

we work together to move from “this could be cool…” to “we’re actually doing this.”

interdisciplinary collaborations bring together different skills, perspectives, and ways of knowing, allowing communities to move beyond silos and create more holistic, creative, and sustainable ways of supporting one another.
